A Rebel With A Cause
I founded Forged Soul-utions because I lost faith in the systems and institutions I was working in, and decided to create a way to share my talents, that also aligns with my values. During that process, I gained so much appreciation and reverance for this beautiful place I call home, that sharing it had to be part of what was coming.
My professional background spans over 15 years in social work, mediation and mental health. I have had all kinds of experiences. I have learned a lot of about perspective, truth, and power. I am consistently doing my best to surf the waves of life with grace, ease and gratitude.
I choose to be a peacemaker, and I start with me.
I get up everyday driven to help others find refuge from chaos, burnout and bullshit. I help people relax and connect to their innermost truth and power. I help people feel and BE solid in who they really are, regardless of circumstances and situations. I bring PEACE and PLAY to this world.
As a venue host, I ensure guests feel comfort and belonging, and take meaningful action to ensure our space is ready to support the flow of your experience with us. I take pride in what we have to offer.
As a service provider, I genuinely care and listen with my whole being. I always hold space in a purposeful way, and demonstrate comfort in the uncomfortable - navigating the shadows and necessary conflicts. I do not tell people to do things my way - I provide them tools and support to identify and embrace their way. I share radical perspectives and profound techniques for healing and empowerment - that I know work because they work for me. I guide people through chaos and old limiting beliefs, and support them in discovering and loving themselves fully and deeply.
Because everything is different
When we are Solid In Self.

Qualifications, Experience & Partnerships
-
I completed a Diploma in Social Work from Mount Royal University in 2009, and a Bachelor of Social Work at the University of Calgary in 2012. As such, I have four years of specialized social work education, including four practicum placements.
I also hold a Conflict Resolution Certificate in Mediation/Third Party Intervention from the Justice Institute of British Columbia.
-
I am trained in Trauma Informed Care and Reiki, and certified to provide Yoga and Belief Repatterning®.
I am a member of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Institute of Alberta (and Canada), in process of completing the requirements for the Qualified Mediator Designation.
Although I am qualified and eligible, I am not currently registered with the Alberta College of Social Workers, and am not licensed to provide psycho-social interventions. I let my social work registration go because it was not required for the mediation and investigation employment I’ve held for the last decade, and I did not see the value in paying the dues. I may reinstate in the future.

I began working in the food service industry in my teens and have held positions as a dishwasher, prep cook, line cook, hostess and server. Working in restaurants and bars, I learned a lot of valuable skills - organization, team work, and public service, to name a few.
I began working in the social work field when I was 18, working first in group care and then in a housing program for Aboriginal Youth. I learned SO much in these roles! Resourcing, referrals, and program review and development were key, but it was the relationships, confidence and skill building that has always meant the most to me.
I spent the better part of the last decade working as an Officer with the Alberta Human Rights Commission. In that role I educated employers and the public on human rights law, its principles and application. I also conducted thorough, complex, and multiparty investigations and mediations.
I worked briefly in Community and Social Services, helping individuals struggling with poverty to access funding, resources, training and employment. I thoroughly enjoyed helping people, but ultimately decided I would have a bigger impact and more fun doing this!

I really enjoy partnerships and collaborations. I work with many local passionate and qualified individuals. Sometimes we co-host retreats, events and workshops. Other times I have the joy and privilege to provide a space for their dream of sharing their skills and passion with the world.

We believe in giving back to the community and regularly seek out opportunities to partner with local non-profit and social support agencies. We may donate services to a client, or provide our space for a gathering without charge.
